How the ProUni average works
The média do ENEM for ProUni is plain arithmetic: the five scores - Ciências da Natureza, Ciências Humanas, Linguagens e Códigos, Matemática and Redação - summed and divided by five, no weights. The edital sets two hard gates, and this page checks both: a minimum of 450 points on that average, and a redação above zero - a zeroed essay is eliminatory no matter how high the average lands. Worked example: 540.2 + 610.8 + 588.4 + 502.1 + 700 = 2941.5, so the média is 588.3 - clear of the floor with 138.3 points to spare.
Two more rules students trip on. ProUni accepts the two most recent ENEM editions and, when you sat both, uses whichever gives the better average - the comparison toggle above answers that in one glance. And 450 is an eligibility floor, not an admission score: the bolsas go to the highest averages in each course, so real per-course cutoffs run far above 450 - pages equating 450 with a scholarship are misleading you. Scores obtained as a treineiro count for nothing here.
One honesty line this site insists on: this calculator takes the five scores INEP published for you. No site can turn your raw correct-answer count into an ENEM score - the scores come from TRI (item response theory), where each item's weight depends on its difficulty and your whole answer pattern; anyone claiming to convert acertos into a nota is estimating from historical correlations. For the weighted Sisu number the same five scores produce, use the Sisu calculator - it is a different formula and a different result. For university course averages, Brazil's CR system lives on the Brazilian grade calculator.
Questions this calculator gets asked
What is the minimum ProUni score?
450 points on the simple average of the five ENEM tests, and the redação must not be zero. Both conditions come from the MEC edital, and both are checked here.
Is the ProUni average weighted?
No. It is the sum of the five scores divided by five, no weights. The Sisu score for the same student IS weighted per course and comes out different - that one has its own calculator here.
Which ENEM editions can I use?
ProUni accepts the two most recent editions. If you sat both, the system uses whichever gave you the better average - the comparison toggle above shows which one that is.
Does a zero redação eliminate me even with a high average?
Yes. A zeroed redação is eliminatory regardless of the average - a 700 average with redação zero is out.
Does 450 guarantee the bolsa?
No. 450 is the floor for participating; the scholarships go to the highest averages in each course, so real cutoffs run well above it.
Do treineiro scores count?
No. Scores obtained as a treineiro are valid for neither ProUni nor Sisu.
Checked on 2026-09-21 against Edital SESu/MEC 51/2026 (ProUni).
