The formula is simple: weighted percentage = high school % times its weight, plus GAT times its weight, plus SAAT times its weight, the weights summing to 100%. GAT (اختبار القدرات) and SAAT (الاختبار التحصيلي) come from ETEC on 100-point scales, best attempt counting. What is not simple is the weights - each university sets its own, and the tables in circulation vary unusually widely. One popular aggregator lists KFUPM at 20/30/50; KFUPM's own admissions FAQ says 10% high school, 50% GAT, 40% SAAT. PNU's current published distribution is 30/30/40 for health, engineering and science and 50/25/25 for humanities - newly approved for 1447, which is exactly why stale tables mislead. So this calculator treats manual weights as the primary mode, and every preset names its source status.

Worked example on the widely used 30/30/40 science distribution: high school 95, GAT 81, SAAT 77 gives 28.5 + 24.3 + 30.8 = 83.6%, compared against per-programme cut-offs that move yearly and often differ by gender because seat counts differ - treat last year's cut-off as a reference, never a promise. The sensitivity line above is the number worth staring at: at KFUPM's weights, one GAT point moves your percentage five times as far as one high-school point; at a humanities 50/25/25, the ratio flips. Where your effort goes should follow your university's weights, not folklore.

The مكافئة preset covers tracks without the تحصيلي - high school and GAT only, typically 50/50. The planner solves any one component for a target: it clamps at 100 and says "not reachable with these weights" instead of cheerfully demanding a 112 in the تحصيلي the way naive calculators do. For university grading after admission, Saudi Arabia's 5.0 system lives on the Saudi GPA calculator.

Questions this calculator gets asked

What is the difference between الموزونة and المكافئة?

النسبة الموزونة combines three scores - high school, GAT (قدرات) and SAAT (تحصيلي). النسبة المكافئة uses only high school and GAT, typically 50/50, for tracks that do not require the تحصيلي. Some universities use the مكافئة name loosely, so always define by formula, not by name.

What weights does my university use?

Each university sets its own. KFUPM publishes 10% high school, 50% GAT, 40% SAAT on its own admissions FAQ; PNU publishes 30/30/40 for health, engineering and science and 50/25/25 for humanities. Published tables differ: one aggregator lists KFUPM at 20/30/50 where KFUPM's own page does not, so this calculator keeps manual weights as the primary mode.

Which GAT attempt counts?

The best score within its validity window - universities state the best attempt counts. GAT and SAAT are administered by ETEC (Qiyas), each on a 100 scale.

Does 90% guarantee medicine?

No. The weighted percentage is compared against per-programme cut-offs that move every year with the applicant pool, and are often split by gender because seat counts differ. Use last year's cut-off as a reference, never a promise.

Can I compute it without the تحصيلي?

Only if your track uses the مكافئة formula (high school + GAT). If your target programme requires the تحصيلي, its weight cannot be redistributed by wish - the university's published formula governs.

Why does each preset show a source?

Because the numbers circulating for Saudi weights are unusually unreliable - aggregators contradict official pages and each other, and distributions change by decree year to year. Presets here carry their source status, and manual entry always wins over a stale preset.
