SLIIT grades each module from A+ (4.0) to E (0.0) and weights every module by its credit value, so a 4-credit module moves your GPA four times as far as a 1-credit one. Enter your modules, credits, and grades below; the GPA and the award class band update as you type. Semester GPA and cumulative GPA use the same arithmetic. The only difference is which modules you include.
Worth knowing: award classes (First, Second Upper, Second Lower) are decided on your cumulative GPA at graduation, and SLIIT's handbook sets rules about repeated modules that a calculator cannot see; the retaken grade is commonly capped. SLIIT follows the standard Sri Lankan 4.0 scale. Award classes are computed on your cumulative GPA at graduation; some programmes exclude repeated modules from the class calculation — verify with the current SLIIT student handbook.

How is GPA calculated at SLIIT?
By credit value. Each module's grade points (A+ and A at 4.0 down to E at 0.0) are multiplied by its credits; the GPA is total quality points divided by total credits — which is exactly what this calculator computes.
What GPA is a First Class at SLIIT?
A cumulative GPA of 3.70 or above is the commonly published First Class boundary, with Second Upper at 3.30 and Second Lower at 3.00. The current SLIIT student handbook is the authoritative source.
What happens to my GPA if I repeat a module?
SLIIT policy caps the grade achievable on a repeat attempt for most programmes. Enter the grade that will actually appear on your transcript rather than the raw result.
Can I use this for semester GPA and cumulative GPA?
Yes — same formula, different rows. Enter one semester's modules for a semester GPA, or every module to date for your cumulative GPA.
